First recipe: hawthorn jam in syrup

Hawthorn jam


  • kilogram of berries;
  • kilogram of sugar;
  • 300 ml water;
  • vanillin to taste;
  • half a spoonful of citric acid.

We sort out the berries, wash them, clean them of seeds and stalks. We put them in an enamel pot. Boiled sugar syrup from water and sugar, pour the berries.

Method 1 . We insist eight hours. Add acid, vanillin, cook until thick over low heat. Remember, when the jam cools, it gets thicker.

Method 2 . Or you can cook for five minutes, after boiling, in three steps every eight hours, removing the foam from the top.

Second recipe: hawthorn berry jam with seeds

We wash the berries, peel them of the stalks, cover them with sugar. We insist this for 6-8 hours or set it overnight. Then we mix, lay out in sterile jars, sprinkle with sugar on top. We roll up. Wash the fruits, peel, sprinkle with sugar. After a day add water, sugar. Put to cook, after boiling add currant puree. Bring to readiness. Pour hot into jars, cork. Warm them up before packaging.

In the same way, you can make hawthorn and apple jam, only add applesauce instead of currants.
