Myths About Aging: What’s Real?
Education in Europe: Myth or Reality?
Students are perhaps the most mobile part of the world's population. These young people are ready to constantly travel, learn new knowledge and languages, start an interesting career and try everything unusual. And if for foreign students there is nothing wrong with going abroad in search of a better fate, then their domestic brothers are extremely wary of the prospect of getting a free education in Europe.
Yes, yes, such an opportunity really exists, but few people know exactly how to implement it and receive diplomas that are quoted around the globe.
Where possible get an education for free?
This opportunity is provided by almost all public higher educational institutions of the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Finland, Sweden and Norway, as well as some German universities and even universities in Luxembourg.
In all states, except Austria and Finland, free knowledge acquisition is possible exclusively in local languages. You should not be upset, because literally every educational organization can take preliminary language courses, albeit on a paid basis. By the way, at the same time you can work, paying for lessons and supporting yourself.
What to do without money?
You can get into Italian, French and German universities without passing the obligatory exams, the main thing is to convince the teaching staff that you are fluent in the language. It is also quite likely that the management of the chosen institution will want to know in writing what goals of education in Western Europe each foreign applicant pursues, what exactly he expects from his studies, and what his future plans for life are.
In the event that a decision was made to enter Czech universities, then there is no way to evade exams, and you will have to pass not only the Czech language, but also a couple of subjects in your chosen profession.
Universities in Finland and Austria can be considered the most democratic, since they easily recognize domestic certificates of maturity and give a chance to study for free even without knowing their language.
How is the knowledge acquisition process going?
The educational system operating in Europe implies the following scheme: 3-5 years should be spent on a bachelor's degree, 2-3 years are allocated for a master's degree, and a doctorateanimates for two years. The full period directly depends on what kind of specialty the young man has chosen.
Free education in Europe invariably surprises our compatriots, because they get it according to a not quite familiar scheme. For example, the full-time form of foreign education is more like a correspondence one, since the main emphasis is on the student's independent work, and not on explaining all the material to him. Students personally choose the due dates for exams and subjects.
However, to think that free higher education in Europe is easy and simply also wrong. The hitch is that you will have to take exams without the usual cheat sheets, but in the form of a conversation with teachers or a voluminous written test.
Such a system is a rather rigid selection, as a result of which, in Italy, for example, only three people out of 10 received graduation diplomas.
If in medieval Europe free education was something self-evident, today not everyone can study for free in a European institution without being a citizen of his country.
But giving up trying to do this means showing cowardice and weakness, since there are always alternative ways.
One of these is grants for a doctorate degree, gratuitous tuition in secondary schools, internships in a foreign company, etc.
The first thing to do in order to get a grant is to translate all letters of recommendation, diplomas and certificates into the language of the university, take into account all the conditions of the competition. And, of course, be among those who are recognized as worthy.
Almost all foundations offer an identical procedure for obtaining a grant, which is as follows:
- Submit an application of the desired sample, to which, in addition to your resume and biography , you can and add an effective and convincing essay;
- In a month, those candidates who have submitted all the necessary papers on time and correctly are called for an interview held in the language of the chosen company or educational institution;
- If the results of the conversation with the representatives are satisfactory, and it will be possible to convince them that transport logistics or landscape design is what you were born for, you are invited for professional and language testing;
- Passing scores completely depend on which specialty was chosen. So, for example, there are more claims to the humanities with regard to knowledge of the language than to the techies or people of art;
- After successfully passing all the tests, it remains to wait for a positive answer until the end of winter.
According to grants, whether you chose logistics, clothing design, philosophy, or banking, higher education in Europe willchildren provided by the foundation on a completely free basis.
There is no need to pay for flights, accommodation and meals during exams and testing, as well as the learning process itself. Moreover, the foundation pays a scholarship to every lucky person.
You can find out all the stages of education in Western Europe in another way, namely, directly submit the required package of papers to the university you like, and then wait for a list of requirements that must be fulfilled in order to gain knowledge in it.
